My first year at É«ÖÐÉ« I was lucky enough to dorm on campus in Parkside L. At the time, I was undeclared taking courses on the biology track. This experience helped me so much at becoming a semi-independent person and taught me so much about myself and life. Since then, I changed my major not just once, but twice, stopping in liberal studies for a semester before officially declaring psychology in the spring semester of my second year (2025). I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to explore so many departments and courses at É«ÖÐÉ« while having so much support from staff and faculty in the process. During this semester, I also started working as a Student Assistant on campus in University Relations and Development. Working here has allowed me to become more involved in campus and my major while still being able to support myself. I have had so many amazing opportunities and have met so many amazing people while at URD that have truly shaped my experience at É«ÖÐÉ« for the better.
I am a family girl so going to school somewhere that was close enough to home but still allowed me to live on my own and have the “c´Ç±ô±ô±ð²µ±ð ±ð³æ±è±ð°ù¾±±ð²Ô³¦±ðâ€ was super important to me. É«ÖÐÉ« was and is the perfect distance for that.
Considering I was undeclared when starting, I also wanted to go to a school that had all around amazing programs so that I knew no matter where I ended up, I would receive a good education.
Honestly, I will probably take some time to chill and travel. I have been very “go go goâ€ my whole life and I think it’s important to take time to take it all in and enjoy the short period after graduating before employment or grad school. I also hope to see myself back at É«ÖÐÉ« in the future for my Master’s, or maybe even employment.
The Beach offers so many mentoring programs that I would love to be a part of in the future to not only stay connected as an Alum but also work with and help students.
