NASH-Google Microcredentials Partnership
色中色 Surpasses Community Engagement Milestone in Google AI Certificate Program
色中色 has surpassed the Community Engagement Milestone by enrolling more than 200 learners in the Google AI Professional Certificate program. This achievement reflects the university鈥檚 commitment to expanding access to high-quality artificial intelligence education and preparing students, faculty, and staff for the evolving demands of the workforce.
In recognition of this accomplishment, 色中色 has been granted an additional three years of no-cost access to Google鈥檚 full catalog of AI training and Google Career Certificates. The university鈥檚 licenses will remain active through December 2030, providing continued opportunities for members of the campus community to develop valuable skills in artificial intelligence, technology, and other high-demand fields.
This extension will allow 色中色 to build on its momentum and further integrate Google鈥檚 professional certificate programs into its academic and professional development initiatives. Through these efforts, the university continues to empower learners and strengthen pathways to career success in an increasingly digital and AI-driven world.
Background
Since 2024, Dr. Mohamed Abdelhamid, Associate Professor of Information Systems and Director of the MSIS program, has served as the CSU system鈥檚 Faculty Champion in the national Google-NASH Microcredentials Community of Practice. The initiative includes 11 public university systems and focuses on expanding access to industry-recognized credentials and strengthening student career readiness.
In collaboration with the CSU Chancellor鈥檚 Office, 色中色 faculty, graduate program coordinators, the College of Professional and Continuing Education, and the Alumni Association, Dr. Abdelhamid has helped integrate Google professional credentials into academic programs, advising, and career development. One Google credential has been incorporated into the MSIS curriculum, with additional opportunities extended to students in marketing analytics, financial analytics, the Weekend MBA, applied statistics, and other programs.
Through sustained outreach, orientations, advising, classroom engagement, and industry events, hundreds of 色中色 students have completed more than 3,300 Google courses and certificates in artificial intelligence, data analytics, and cybersecurity. The initiative has also expanded opportunities for alumni through partnerships with CPaCE and the Alumni Association.
A major achievement was 色中色鈥檚 early completion of the Google AI Professional Certificate Community Engagement Milestone. The university enrolled more than 200 learners ahead of the December 2026 deadline and, as a result, secured 500 no-cost licenses for Google AI training and Google Career Certificates through December 2030. This extension will support the continued integration of industry credentials into academic programs and student development initiatives.
Dr. Abdelhamid is also connecting Google credentials with experiential learning through the inaugural Datathon at The Beach, where students will apply AI and analytics skills to real-world business challenges. In November 2026, he will represent the CSU system at the Google-NASH Learning Summit in Maryland, sharing 色中色鈥檚 implementation strategies and achievements with higher education leaders nationwide.
