First-Year Mandatory Advising (FMA)

 

Welcome to CLA鈥檚 First-Year Mandatory Advising (FMA)!

We look forward to assisting you as you prepare for your third semester at 色中色. All CLA First-Time, First-Year students must receive mandatory advising from ATLAS to have their advising hold removed and to be able to register on time. Start the FMA process by reviewing the information below.

How Do I Get My Mandatory Advising Hold Removed?

Attend a CLA FMA appointment with ATLAS.

Where Do I Sign Up for a CLA FMA Appointment? 

Check your 色中色 email to sign up or click the gold banner in to select your appointment time.

When Do I Register for Classes? 

After attending your CLA FMA appointment, you will register on your own in April.

色中色 Enrollment Services will email you with your assigned registration date and time. You can also view the details on your My色中色 Student Center in the 鈥淓nrollment Dates鈥 section.

Please note: Registration dates and times cannot be adjusted.

  • If you are a non-CLA first-year student interested in changing your major to CLA, you will need to meet with an ATLAS advisor during Drop-In Advising to get the process started. Visit our Drop-In Advising page for advising hours, modes (in person or virtual), and instructions.

    If you are unable to sign into Drop-in Advising hours, please call our office at 562-985-7804. 
     
  • If you no longer wish to pursue a CLA major, visit the Academic Advising at 色中色 website to learn which Advising Center to contact for your First-Year Mandatory Advising requirement.
