Michelle Barrack
Michelle T. Barrack, Ph.D., is an associate professor who teaches nutrition and dietetics in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Cal State Long Beach.
She is a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) and a board-certified specialist in sports dietetics (CSSD), specializing in nutrition for high school and collegiate cross-country and track and field runners. She has researched and published extensively on factors that increase the risk of low bone mineral density and bone stress injuries in runners. She also has experience evaluating dietary supplement use among NCAA collegiate athletes and distance runners.
She holds a doctorate in nutritional biology from the University of California, Davis, an M.S. in exercise physiology from San Diego State University, and a B.A. in psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
