Wade Martin

Wade Martin, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Economics and Director of the Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Cal State, Long Beach.

His research focuses on risk analysis related to natural resources and environmental policy, as well as local economic development. He has worked on research and development projects for the Downtown Long Beach Alliance, CalRecycle, the World Bank, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the Government of Indonesia. He has also been a visiting scholar at the Harvard Institute for International Development.

He has been a commentator on NPR’s Marketplace and has appeared in numerous newspaper outlets. He has also served as editor-in-chief of the academic journal Contemporary Economic Policy.

He holds a doctorate in economics from the University of New Mexico.
