Long Beach State jumped more than 20 spots in Money �������������Ա�’s list announced Monday. Long Beach State is ranked No. 22, up from last year’s No. 47 spot, and the highest-ranked California State University on the list.

The university also was ranked No. 13 as the

President Jane Close Conoley continues to stress the importance of getting an education without “shouldering many of the financial burdens that other college students face.”

The magazine ranked schools on quality, affordability and high graduate earnings, factors prospective students usually considering when deciding which university to attend. It is one reason Long Beach State continues to be one of the most applied to schools in the nation.

According to Money, the schools listed “deliver a superior education at an affordable price, enabling graduates to avoid debt and succeed in the workplace.”

The magazine looked at the cost of Long Beach State’s tuition with aid ($10,600) and without aid ($24,000), estimated price with average grant, the percentage of students who get grants (80 percent), average student debt ($15,000), early career earnings ($49,200), plus 22 other factors in three categories – quality of education, affordability and outcomes – when putting together the rankings.
