Mission and Goals
MISSION STATEMENT
To provide access to and equitable participation in local paid internships for É«ÖÐÉ« students.
LBCIP GOALS
- To increase the number of É«ÖÐÉ« students who complete paid internships, especially traditionally underrepresented groups such as students of color, those who are the first in their families to go to college, and those that are Pell eligible.
- To provide opportunities for students to do meaningful work in their own neighborhoods, including work that promotes social justice, while they apply coursework to real world settings, hone professional skills, network, and explore local career opportunities.
- To close the loop on the Long Beach Promise, creating a bridge for students back to their communities to work, live, and thrive (Keeping our Promise).
- To establish collaborations with nonprofits and Long Beach City Departments that have never partnered with É«ÖÐÉ«, thereby broadening our reach.
- To increase immediate organizational capacity for nonprofit organizations while cultivating a long-term workforce development pipeline for the Long Beach community. This is a critical component of our commitment to the public good.
