2028 Summer Games

The City of Long Beach will proudly serve as a major venue city for the 2028 Summer Games, taking place July 14-30 2028. Long Beach will be a host to various water sport events such as Water Polo, Open Water Swimming, Sailing, Windsurfing, Kiteboarding, Rowing, Canoe Sprint, and Beach Volleyball.

All campus accommodations for housing and parking are fully committed for the 2028 Summer Games. All space availability for practice, training, and meeting purposes is limited to June and July of 2028

The priority bidding interest deadline has now passed. We are now accepting open bids for available spaces on a first come, first served basis until further notice. 

Please prepare your Bid Proposal using the guidelines provided below and submit it via email to jackie.bedford@csulb.edu . Our committee will review all submissions and reach out with any questions or clarifications. 

Bidding Criteria 

1. Intended Use / Venue Fit 

  • Basic event information: Contact information, event name(s) & description(s), location(s), proposed date(s) & time(s), and guest count 
  • Brief explanation of the intended use for the venue(s) 
  • Why each requested venue is ideal for your event(s) 
  • What makes your event unique or beneficial for the university/community 
  • Experience hosting similar events (optional) &²Ô²ú²õ±è;

 

2. Event Logistics &²Ô²ú²õ±è;

  • Setup and teardown requirements 
  • Equipment or furniture needs 
  • Parking or accessibility considerations 
  • Other Needs & Requirements: Address any additional requirements or concerns in areas such as campus rules & regulations, advertising or PR considerations, and added services like increased security, IT services and Wi-Fi.

3. Budget, Compliance & Insurance &²Ô²ú²õ±è;

  • Ability to meet base pricing model 
  • Opportunities for campus engagement through educational improvements
  • Confirm willingness to provide deposit and sign contract 
  • Any additional budget considerations (e.g., extra services) 
  • Confirm ability to provide required insurance 
  • Acknowledge Facility Use Agreement requirement 
  • Deposit & Cancellations: Agreeance on details regarding deposit amount, refundability, and required notice period for cancellations. 

 

4. Partnership & Collaboration  &²Ô²ú²õ±è;

  • Review of established relationship with É«ÖÐÉ«
  • Qualifications with other venues (can they provide prior positive experience with another vendor?)
  • Size of team and our ability to support a large or complex event request(s) 
  • Familiarity with campus policies and culture 
  • Ease of working (e.g., responsiveness, flexibility & communication throughout the process) 
  • Alignment with É«ÖÐɫ’s mission and vision, including opportunities to engage student‑athletes, students, and the broader campus community and Long Beach community

 

5. Bid Information &²Ô²ú²õ±è;

  • Review the bid submission for completeness & clarity
  • Basic event information provided for each category

In preparation for the 2028 Summer Games, we are offering the following facilities to be rented for practice, training, conference accommodations, food service and meeting space purposes. Please review the list of available spaces below.
