Are you a campus author looking to host a book signing event at the University Bookstore? We’re here to help make your event memorable! Below is everything you need to know about hosting with us or arranging book sales at an alternate location.
What to Expect at a Campus Bookstore Event
A typical book signing event at the University Bookstore is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your audience. Here's what the event entails:
- Guests will begin arriving at the scheduled time.
- An honored guest, invited by you, will give a brief 5-10 minute speech to introduce you as the author.
- You will then have the chance to share insights about your book in a 5-10 minute speech.
- The remaining time will be spent mingling, allowing guests to purchase copies of your book and have them signed.
What We Provide
To make your event a success, the University Bookstore offers the following:
- A dedicated space for you and your guests, available for up to 2 hours
- A table with black linen and a chair for the signing
- Promotion via social media post and an 11x7 sign and/or an 8.5X11 sign displayed in-store
- A $100 refundable fee applies, depending on book sales
What You’ll Need to Provide
To participate, please ensure the following:
- Your book must either be from a returnable publisher or provided on consignment if it’s self-published
- Submit a mock-up or details for the graphic design of the social media post and the sign
- While we’ll support with a social media post, it’s your responsibility to invite guests and handle additional marketing efforts
Hosting at an Alternate Location
Prefer to host your event elsewhere? No problem! Here’s how we can assist:
- As a certified reseller, we will manage book sales while ensuring compliance with sales tax regulations
- Our staff will arrive 30 minutes before the event to set up and greet guests
- We’re happy to sell books before and after the event, ensuring a seamless experience for you and your attendees
- A $200 refundable fee applies, depending on book sales
