The Department of Human Development (HDEV) studies maturation and development as lifelong processes while integrating anthropology, biology, psychology, and sociology. Students explore biological, cognitive, social, and emotional development from conception through the end of life within family, social, and cultural contexts. The curriculum addresses biological, cognitive, social, and emotional development from conception through the end of life with an emphasis on equity and social justice. Our faculty bring this interdisciplinary perspective to teaching and research. HDEV prepares students for fulfilling careers in therapy, social work, counseling, health, education, advocacy, business, research, and related fields.
