Yes, it's true. You can (and should) get paid for your HDEV 470 internship. Here's a great program that's developed by an HDEV faculty member who is passionate about helping students secure paid internships. Apply now for spring!  

 The Long Beach Community Internship Program (LBCIP) is here to help you do just that! WHAT IS LBCIP? LBCIP is a one-semester, paid internship program (Spring 2026) that connects É«ÖÐÉ« undergraduates with local nonprofit organizations. You’ll:  

  • Complete 90+ hours of meaningful work with a local nonprofit
  • Earn $2,000 after completing your internship\
  • Enroll in a 3-unit internship course during Spring 2026 (we’ll help you choose the right one!)
  • Attend professional development trainings and workshops
  • Build your resume and professional network

Throughout the semester, you’ll sharpen your skills, make meaningful connections, and explore new directions for your career.   All students, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, and sexual orientation, are welcome to apply.    Learn more:
