Dr. Raisa Hernández Pacheco
Director
Dr. Hernández Pacheco has dedicated her studies to modeling the effects of environmental factors on structured animal populations. She received her doctoral degree from the University of Puerto Rico after assessing the effects of mass bleaching on coral populations. Right after, she joined the Caribbean Primate Research Center and the Max-Planck Odense Center on the Biodemography of Aging to study the long-term dynamics of the Cayo Santiago rhesus macaque population. Her research interests include questions on population ecology and evolutionary demography aimed at understanding why individuals within populations vary.
