This fall semester the College of Education will welcome its first cohort of approximately 100 students enrolled in the HSI Caminos Project, a student pipeline program aimed at increasing Latina/o and Hispanic students in the teaching profession. 

Dr. Jessica Zacher Pandya will be traveling to Australia in August to talk about her forthcoming book, Exploring Critical Digital Literacy Practices: Everyday Video in a Dual Language Context (Routledge, 2019).

​The College of Education participated in the university's first-ever Giving Day, which brought in $1.1 million in donations to ɫ��ɫ.

Visitors to the Ellis Education Building and attendees at events across the College have the opportunity to interact with our amazing Student Ambassadors.

Jessica Zacher Pandya, chair of the Department of Liberal Studies, was invited to a meeting in Rovaniemi, Finland in December 2017.

SchoolsFirst FCU’s (SFFCU) support of clinical practice models at ɫ��ɫ continues to expand. In addition to the SFFCU Urban Teacher Education Academy (UTEACH), the College of Education’s (CED) Urban Dual Credential Program (UDCP) is now supported by SchoolsFirst FCU’s 2015 five-year $500,000 grant.  

Two teams including researchers from the College of Education have been awarded Multidisciplinary Internal Research Grants for the 2017-18 academic year via ɫ��ɫ’s Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP).

Dr. Paul Boyd Batstone, chair of the department of Teacher Education spoke at a recent event celebrating Dual Immersion Day. Local and state officials, parents, teachers, and students gathered at Patrick Henry Elementary in honor of the school’s pilot bilingual program.

In unison with 22 CSU campuses and 10 private colleges and universities, the CED sponsored a first-of-a-kind event—Better Together: California Teachers Summit—on Friday, July 31, 2015.

In March 2015, the College opened the doors of the Center for Evaluation and Educational Effectiveness (CEEE)–pronounced “C”.
