Last year, we polled the members to ask what information they wanted to hear about / things to do. We were able to invite all the speakers to talk about the topics you listed!

Shannon Couey, Assistant Director, Communications Asi
USU Update鈥擲neak peak of buildings/conceptual designs!
- The student union renovation and expansion project is the largest in the CSU system.
- Adding 61,000 square feet of new structure while renovating the existing building.
- Expected to be completed by 2028 in time for the Olympics.
- Will include new dining options, a wellness center, refurbished game center, and modernized spaces for student government.
- Vertical construction anticipated by spring 2027 and external building completion by fall 2027.
President Blanchard
- Been meeting with a lot of people around campus- trying to get visit every building on campus.
- Spirit of community is so strong here鈥攕hows with so many people who helped with Commencement ceremonies (13) 鈥 thank you for volunteering; there are so many partners and I鈥檓 thrilled to meet with our community members.
- Will be speaking tonight at Compton College commencement ceremony happening at 色中色.
- Staff play a major role in welcoming new/continuing students 鈥 as it is sometimes difficult to know where 鈥渢he front door鈥 is 鈥 and how to navigate the campus.
- announced plans to form an extended cabinet
- has begun listening sessions to decide on strategic priorities鈥 and will continue this. Wants to hear from staff about how you want to move forward in the coming years.

FYI- check out the database called Swank for streaming over 100 major motion pictures that are the most-requested feature films for curriculum support. Students, faculty and staff are able to stream the movies, and faculty may link the movies in Canvas and/or show during class.
