ADA Title II and You: Special Edition

Last week, we shared what we expected to be our final ADA Title II newsletter ahead of the April 24 deadline. We are sending this special edition to announce an important update:

ADA Title II Deadline Extended to April 26, 2027

The U.S. Department of Justice has just issued an that extends the compliance deadlines for the ADA Title II digital accessibility requirements for another year to April 26, 2027.

What This Means

While the timeline has changed, the expectations have not:

• Accessibility requirements under remain in place.
• Standards have not changed for digital content, websites, and mobile apps.
• Our campus commitment to accessibility continues.

Building on Our Progress

É«ÖÐÉ« has made significant progress over the past two years. That work continues with more time to strengthen and sustain accessible practices across campus. This extension allows us to:

• Continue improving existing content.
• Build accessibility into new content from the start.
• Expand training and support for campus.

Moving Forward

Accessibility is a shared responsibility and an ongoing commitment. This extended timeline allows us to continue making meaningful and lasting improvements for our campus community. Updates and resources will continue to be shared to ensure we are all prepared for the new deadline.
